Damn! This is a great night for anyone who has stumbled upon this blog, because you're getting some rare gems. Charlie Feathers is, in my mind, the king of rockabilly. He went above and beyond everything that is great about rockabilly music, but for whatever reason was mainly overlooked. He did not repeat mistakes that other rockabilly artists made (such as writing a ridiculous amount of songs that sound the same), he just kept getting better and more interesting. Not only that, but he had a voice unlike anyone else I've ever heard. Feathers is as unique of an artist as you could hope for, especially from that time period. This 2-CD set is the most comprehensive collection of his early work out there, but it is quickly becoming more expensive and harder to find. I've said it before and I'll say it again: there's no reason that CDs should ever be out of print! I was lucky to get mine for $40 a few months ago, but it was hard to find one that cheap. I did some searching for it just before I posted this, and there is a $47 used copy available on Amazon, but only one copy was available from eBay for over $150, and no one else seems to have it period. Get it, love it.
