The Numero Group is a label not to be missed. Just like with any genre, you have the major players and you have the other artists and bands who come in behind the major players. Some of them find their place in the history books eventually, and so many others fall into the darkness of obscurity. This label has gone to great lengths to find many of the soul and funk artists of the 50s, 60s, and 70s and put them together into a compilation series called Eccentric Soul. This is definitely one of the best series I've ever run into, right up there with Ethiopiques and Nuggets. This is the first disc in the series, and I believe they are up to about 20 or more now.
